The Opportunity:
As an HR Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the school’s people function, ensuring a responsive and professional experience for all colleagues. This is a vital role in maintaining smooth HR operations, managing compliance, and delivering high-quality service across the employee lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain accurate employee records and data across HR systems.
- Support the recruitment process, including pre-employment checks and maintaining the Single Central Register.
- Provide efficient and professional HR support for onboarding, offboarding, and day-to-day HR operations.
- Assist with payroll changes, contractual updates, and absence management.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding and HR policies, identifying and escalating risks promptly.
- Support continuous improvement of HR systems and processes with a practical, solutions-focused approach.
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues at all levels across the school network.
- Deliver a high-quality service to managers and colleagues, ensuring all HR processes are handled with care and professionalism.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Previous experience in an HR administrative or HR Officer role.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Confidence in managing competing priorities and maintaining accurate records.
- Experience with HR or management information systems.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
- Experience in recruitment administration and pre-employment checks.
Preferred
- Experience of maintaining a Single Central Register or working within an education setting.
- Experience in an independent or academy school environment.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and compliance requirements.
- Experience with employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
