The Opportunity:

We are seeking an inspiring and creative Design & Technology Teacher (Textiles) to join a high-performing department. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Design & Technology (Textiles) across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Support students in achieving excellent results, with a focus on developing practical and theoretical skills.
  • Contribute to the development of the department's curriculum and teaching strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance student learning and school performance.
  • Provide pastoral support and mentorship to students where appropriate.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the subject and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
  • Maintain accurate records and assess student progress effectively.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Design & Technology (Textiles) at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach KS5.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a high-performing department.

Preferred

  • Experience in a Church of England school or similar environment.
  • Experience with innovative teaching and learning approaches.
  • Experience in supporting students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience in curriculum development and leadership within a department.
