Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured science lessons aligned with the curriculum
  • Prepare students for GCSE Science examinations and support their academic progress
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of students with SEN and additional barriers
  • Monitor, assess, and report on student progress regularly with clear, achievable targets
  • Contribute to Life Skills, Employability, Enrichment, and PSHE programmes
  • Maintain accurate records, including assessments, reports, and grade cards
  • Create a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment
  • Support the development and implementation of the Science curriculum
  • Attend department meetings and contribute to the creation of teaching resources
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students and support their social and emotional development
  • Promote STEM opportunities and careers within science through extra-curricular activities

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong subject knowledge in Science
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs and mental health challenges
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Commitment to student success and high expectations

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and resource creation
  • Familiarity with alternative provision settings
  • Experience in pastoral care and student support
  • Experience with GCSE Science teaching and examination preparation
