Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured science lessons aligned with the curriculum
- Prepare students for GCSE Science examinations and support their academic progress
- Differentiate learning to meet the needs of students with SEN and additional barriers
- Monitor, assess, and report on student progress regularly with clear, achievable targets
- Contribute to Life Skills, Employability, Enrichment, and PSHE programmes
- Maintain accurate records, including assessments, reports, and grade cards
- Create a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment
- Support the development and implementation of the Science curriculum
- Attend department meetings and contribute to the creation of teaching resources
- Build strong, positive relationships with students and support their social and emotional development
- Promote STEM opportunities and careers within science through extra-curricular activities
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong subject knowledge in Science
- Experience working with students with special educational needs and mental health challenges
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Commitment to student success and high expectations
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and resource creation
- Familiarity with alternative provision settings
- Experience in pastoral care and student support
- Experience with GCSE Science teaching and examination preparation
