The Opportunity:

As a Humanities Teacher, you will inspire and educate students in subjects such as History and Geography. You will play a key role in helping students develop academic and life skills in a supportive and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging humanities lessons aligned with the curriculum
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students with SEN and additional barriers
  • Set high expectations and motivate students to achieve their best
  • Monitor and report on student progress effectively
  • Encourage curiosity, discussion, and critical thinking in humanities subjects
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students
  • Support students’ academic, social, and emotional development
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment activities and team collaboration
  • Promote student safety, wellbeing, and positive behaviour

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Degree in a Humanities-related subject
  • Strong understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Experience or interest in working with SEN students or post-16 learners

Preferred

  • Experience in alternative provision or special education settings
  • Commitment to safeguarding and equality
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to a dynamic school environment
