The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Junior School Assistant to join our team for the 2026/2027 academic year. This role offers a unique opportunity to support teaching and learning, contribute to the school’s vibrant community, and make a meaningful impact on young students’ lives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide teaching support for junior school teachers and pupils
• Offer 1:1 assistance with reading, spellings, and maths
• Create a safe and supportive environment for pupils requiring a sensory break
• Support Transition technology lessons
• Cover lessons in the absence of teaching staff
• Complete administrative tasks efficiently
• Supervise playground activities at various times during the day
• Provide after-school supervision
• Manage the “Narnia” system for house point prizes
• Act as a positive role model for junior school pupils
• Assist in the administration of one-day educational visits
• Accompany first form pupils on a two-night residential trip

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Good numeracy and literacy skills
• Enthusiasm and a proactive attitude
• Ability to work flexibly during term-time

Preferred

• Experience working with children
• Previous teaching or support assistant experience
• Familiarity with educational technology

Compensation & Benefits:

• Hourly rate: £14.80
• Flexible working hours during term-time
• Occasional weekend and evening work required
