The Opportunity:
As a Junior Sports Assistant, you will support the delivery of sporting activities for young pupils, helping to create a positive and engaging sporting environment. This role is ideal for an enthusiastic individual with a passion for sport and education who wants to make a meaningful impact on young learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of junior swimming lessons, including working with EYFS and Key Stage 1 pupils.
- Accompany teaching staff on sport-related fixtures, trips, and activities.
- Contribute to Junior Games afternoons based on your sporting specialism.
- Assist with lunchtime sports clubs and reinforce key teaching points.
- Provide administrative support to the PE department, including inputting assessment data and preparing resources.
- Help create a positive and inclusive sporting environment for all pupils.
- Support the development of sporting skills and confidence in young learners.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A genuine passion for sport and education.
- Experience playing or coaching football, cricket, gymnastics, hockey, netball, swimming, or tennis to a high level.
- Ability to work effectively with children aged 4 to 11.
- Enthusiasm for supporting sporting activities and creating a positive environment.
Preferred
- Coaching experience or the ability to offer more than one sport to a high standard.
- Experience working in a school or educational environment.
- Strong teamwork and leadership skills.
