The Opportunity:

As a Site Development Project Director, you will lead a transformative project to create a new, world-class educational facility for the junior school, aligning with the school’s long-term vision to become fully coeducational. This role is central to the school’s strategic development and will have a lasting impact on the educational experience of students and the wider community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning and execution of a major site development project, ensuring alignment with the school’s strategic goals.
  • Collaborate closely with the Head, Junior School Headmaster, Bursar, and senior leadership team to drive the project forward.
  • Manage the master planning process and coordinate the renewal and enhancement of facilities across the school estate.
  • Ensure the project is delivered efficiently, with a focus on quality, sustainability, and long-term impact.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including staff, pupils, and external partners, to maintain strong communication and support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and implement a phased development plan, ensuring flexibility and adaptability as the project evolves.
  • Support the school’s vision for a continuous educational experience for pupils across all year groups.
  • Manage budgets and financial planning to ensure the project remains within scope and meets strategic objectives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a school or similar educational institution.
  • Demonstrated experience in major school transformation or master planning projects.
  • Strong strategic thinking and the ability to navigate complex organisational structures.
  • Proven track record in project management and change management.
  • Experience in budget management and financial planning.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children, with a clear understanding of best practices.
  • Adaptability, resilience, and the ability to work under pressure.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading large-scale development projects in a coeducational or educational setting.
  • Familiarity with the use of relevant IT systems and software for project management.
  • Experience in fostering inclusive and diverse communities.
  • Background in educational leadership with a focus on long-term strategic planning.
