The Opportunity:

A Higher Level Teaching Assistant is required to support students with special educational needs. This role involves developing strategies to assist individual students, small groups, and whole class settings. The successful candidate will work within a dedicated and supportive Learning Support Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special educational needs across the curriculum.
  • Develop and implement individualised learning strategies.
  • Deliver small group interventions for students with SLCN challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.
  • Monitor and report on student progress regularly.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of whole class support sessions.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant qualifications in education or related field.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school setting, ideally within a Learning Support Team.
  • Knowledge of SLCN (Speech, Language and Communication Needs) support strategies.
  • Experience in developing individual education plans (IEPs).
