Summary:

KS1 Class Teacher needed at a progressive school in South West London.

The Opportunity:

As a KS1 Class Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering a high-quality education to young learners, ensuring they thrive academically and personally. Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach the agreed subjects to the class, following the school's curriculum and schemes of work.
  • Collaborate with parallel teachers to plan and update termly and weekly lesson plans and curriculum resumes.
  • Work with Teaching Assistants to plan and organise classroom activities.
  • Plan and coordinate educational visits and guest speakers.
  • Maintain and update formal and informal records of student progress.
  • Write biannual reports for parents and attend parent consultation evenings.
  • Administer and mark biannual evaluations and other formal assessments.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) with the Learning Support Coordinator.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in KS1 education.
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate student records and report progress effectively.
  • Experience working in a team and collaborating with colleagues.

Preferred

  • Experience in a creative and progressive school environment.
  • Familiarity with inclusive education practices and support for diverse learners.
  • Experience in planning and leading educational visits or extracurricular activities.
  • Strong communication skills with parents and students.
