The Opportunity:

As a KS3 RE Coordinator, you will play a key role in delivering an inspiring, knowledge-rich RE curriculum that fosters curiosity and critical thinking. You will work with a passionate team to ensure sustained progress and high standards of teaching and learning across Key Stage 3.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver a high-quality, knowledge-rich RE curriculum aligned with the National Curriculum.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement assessment strategies that monitor student progress.
  • Inspire and motivate students across the ability range with engaging, thought-provoking lessons.
  • Support the development of teaching and learning practices through shared planning and reflective practice.
  • Participate in and contribute to the school’s professional development programme, including CPD and NPQs.
  • Work closely with the Humanities team to ensure a consistent and ambitious approach to teaching and learning.
  • Promote the school’s ethos and values through inclusive and impactful teaching.
  • Engage in research and curriculum innovation to enhance student outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good degree and Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Strong subject knowledge of RE and the National Curriculum.
  • Experience in teaching RE at Key Stage 3.
  • The ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Commitment to high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • A reflective approach and a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Commitment to the ethos and values of the school.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development or leadership roles.
  • Experience with National Professional Qualifications (NPQs).
  • Experience in cross-curricular collaboration.
  • Experience in pastoral support or student engagement.
