The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Latin Teacher to join a dynamic team and deliver high-quality teaching to students across KS3, KS4, and KS5. This role offers the opportunity to shape young minds and support students in achieving excellent results in Latin GCSE and A Level qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging lessons that enhance students' oral, reading, and writing skills in Latin.
  • Prepare and support small groups of students for Latin GCSE (Eduqas) and AS and A Level (OCR) examinations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and high-quality curriculum.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and achievement.
  • Stay up to date with best practices in Latin teaching and incorporate innovative approaches into lessons.
  • Work closely with students to develop their confidence and academic performance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience teaching Latin to secondary-aged students, either as a qualified or unqualified teacher.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Latin, including grammar, literature, and history.
  • Ability to create and deliver effective lesson plans and assessments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student success and a passion for teaching.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching Latin GCSE and A Level qualifications.
  • Familiarity with Eduqas and OCR examination boards.
  • Experience working in a school with a strong academic reputation.
  • Ability to work flexibly and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
