The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated Latin Teacher to join a dynamic team and deliver high-quality teaching to students across KS3, KS4, and KS5. This role offers the opportunity to shape young minds and support students in achieving excellent results in Latin GCSE and A Level qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons that enhance students' oral, reading, and writing skills in Latin.
- Prepare and support small groups of students for Latin GCSE (Eduqas) and AS and A Level (OCR) examinations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and high-quality curriculum.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and achievement.
- Stay up to date with best practices in Latin teaching and incorporate innovative approaches into lessons.
- Work closely with students to develop their confidence and academic performance.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience teaching Latin to secondary-aged students, either as a qualified or unqualified teacher.
- Strong subject knowledge in Latin, including grammar, literature, and history.
- Ability to create and deliver effective lesson plans and assessments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to student success and a passion for teaching.
Preferred
- Experience teaching Latin GCSE and A Level qualifications.
- Familiarity with Eduqas and OCR examination boards.
- Experience working in a school with a strong academic reputation.
- Ability to work flexibly and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
