The Opportunity:
As a Lead Exam Invigilator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of public and internal examinations. This position offers the chance to lead a team, manage exam logistics, and uphold the integrity of the assessment process. Your leadership and attention to detail will be vital in maintaining a secure and fair exam environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organise and oversee invigilators for public and internal exams
- Lead and manage the invigilator team, including scheduling and managing changes
- Deliver training to ensure all invigilators are prepared for exams
- Set up exam rooms with required materials and ensure compliance with regulations
- Complete and submit exam room registers promptly
- Manage the collection and security of candidate scripts
- Ensure understanding of evacuation and contingency procedures
- Ensure all student access arrangements are met
- Handle queries and incidents on exam days, reporting as required
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in invigilating exams, with knowledge of JCQ and awarding body regulations
- Ability to manage a team and handle short-notice changes
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Commitment to upholding exam integrity and security
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role
- Experience with exam administration and training
- Familiarity with digital tools and record-keeping systems
- Background in education or related fields
