The Opportunity:

As a Lead Exam Invigilator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of public and internal examinations. This position offers the chance to lead a team, manage exam logistics, and uphold the integrity of the assessment process. Your leadership and attention to detail will be vital in maintaining a secure and fair exam environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organise and oversee invigilators for public and internal exams
  • Lead and manage the invigilator team, including scheduling and managing changes
  • Deliver training to ensure all invigilators are prepared for exams
  • Set up exam rooms with required materials and ensure compliance with regulations
  • Complete and submit exam room registers promptly
  • Manage the collection and security of candidate scripts
  • Ensure understanding of evacuation and contingency procedures
  • Ensure all student access arrangements are met
  • Handle queries and incidents on exam days, reporting as required

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in invigilating exams, with knowledge of JCQ and awarding body regulations
  • Ability to manage a team and handle short-notice changes
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Commitment to upholding exam integrity and security
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Experience with exam administration and training
  • Familiarity with digital tools and record-keeping systems
  • Background in education or related fields
