The Opportunity:
As a Lead Food Technology Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping a dynamic and inspiring curriculum for Key Stages 3 and 4. This is an opportunity to lead by example, drive student progress, and contribute to a culture of excellence and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and delivery of a high-quality Food Technology curriculum across KS3 and KS4
- Model best practices in teaching, promoting high expectations and student engagement
- Foster a collaborative department culture, supporting colleagues through mentoring and professional learning
- Implement effective assessment strategies to ensure student achievement and growth
- Uphold the school’s values of kindness, resilience, responsibility, reflectiveness, and respect in all aspects of teaching
- Promote an inclusive, student-centred approach to learning and wellbeing
- Stay up to date with industry trends and innovations in Food Technology education
- Support the wider school community through extracurricular and pastoral activities
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Food Technology
- Proven ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment
- Commitment to the school’s values and mission
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or team
- Background in inclusive education and student support
- Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies
- Experience in extracurricular or pastoral work
