Cover Supervisor needed at a school in Wakefield. Support learning and student development during teacher absences.

The Opportunity:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will ensure continuity of learning when teachers are absent, delivering engaging lessons and supporting student development. This role is ideal for someone passionate about education and committed to making a positive impact on young people’s lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in line with Teacher Standards
  • Support students’ learning and development, including those with additional needs
  • Contribute to literacy and numeracy interventions to improve student outcomes
  • Promote independent learning and positive classroom engagement
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment
  • Support the school’s ethos, values, and curriculum
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, and families

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Confidence in leading and engaging groups of young people
  • Ability to remain calm, resilient, and positive under pressure
  • Passion for education and student success
  • Strong communication skills and team collaboration
  • Commitment to inclusion, wellbeing, and high expectations for all students

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or supporting students with special educational needs
  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting
  • Familiarity with literacy and numeracy intervention strategies
  • Experience in working with students with complex social, emotional, and mental health needs
