The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a passionate and forward-thinking Computer Science Teacher to inspire students and contribute to curriculum development. The role involves teaching across KS3, KS4, and the Cambridge National in IT (CAMNAT IT), with opportunities to support students in their digital learning journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and accessible lessons in computational thinking, programming, and digital literacy.
- Support pupils of all abilities in developing strong foundational knowledge for KS4 and IT pathways.
- Teach the Cambridge National IT course, guiding learners through coursework and practical skills.
- Deliver structured teaching on IT concepts such as data handling, project planning, and digital tools.
- Teach the full GCSE Computer Science curriculum, including programming in Python and cybersecurity.
- Prepare students for both theoretical and practical assessments with effective exam strategies.
- Promote academic integrity and support learners in producing high-quality coursework.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the school’s digital curriculum.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Computer Science and IT.
- Strong knowledge of KS3, KS4, and CAMNAT IT curricula.
- Ability to deliver engaging and structured lessons.
- Experience in supporting students of all abilities.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Preferred
- Experience with teaching programming languages such as Python.
- Familiarity with digital tools and creative media applications.
- Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
- Background in e-safety and digital literacy education.
- Experience with pastoral care and student support.
