The Opportunity:

As a Lead History Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, rigorous History lessons that inspire a lifelong love of learning. You will lead and support a dynamic team, driving academic achievement and fostering a culture of excellence across Key Stages 3-5.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging History lessons to students across Key Stages 3-5
  • Lead and coach colleagues within the Humanities team to enhance teaching and learning
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that raise pupil attainment
  • Support the delivery of KS5 Government & Politics with a focus on student success
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking
  • Demonstrate a passion for the subject through inspiring and impactful teaching
  • Manage administrative and organisational tasks efficiently
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as an outstanding teacher with a track record of raising pupil attainment in History
  • Experience in leading and coaching others within a school setting
  • Strong IT, administrative, and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students and colleagues
  • Ability to manage minor incidents and provide first aid (training will be provided)

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching KS5 Government & Politics
  • Background in delivering CPD sessions or leading departmental initiatives
  • Experience in a school rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of £41,328 - £53,606 (Main Pay Scale AM1-AM6) + TLR 2A (£3,525)
