The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated History Teacher to join a dynamic and supportive department. The role offers the opportunity to inspire students and contribute to a department known for its academic excellence and innovative teaching methods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality History lessons across all key stages, fostering a love of the subject in students.
  • Develop and implement engaging and challenging curricula that align with the school’s academic standards.
  • Support students in developing critical thinking, research, and analytical skills through independent learning and assessment.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, planning sessions, and collaborative teaching initiatives.
  • Organize and lead educational visits and trips to enhance students’ understanding of historical events and contexts.
  • Contribute to the management and development of the History Society and other extra-curricular activities.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
  • Stay informed about current historical research and developments to enhance teaching and learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A strong academic background in History, including an excellent History degree.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for teaching and sharing knowledge with students.
  • Ability to engage students of all abilities and backgrounds.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and academic growth.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching History at any level, including A Level.
  • A postgraduate qualification in History or a related field.
  • Experience with educational visits and co-curricular activities.
  • Familiarity with digital tools and resources for teaching and learning.
