The Opportunity:
A Learning Support Assistant is needed to support pupils with learning differences in a stimulating and inclusive environment. This role is essential to helping children with severe and complex needs achieve their full potential through a child centred, play based curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with learning differences in a structured and nurturing environment.
- Assist in delivering a child centred, play based curriculum that promotes communication and learning.
- Work closely with teaching staff to ensure individual needs are met.
- Create and maintain a calm, welcoming, and safe learning environment.
- Promote equality, respect, and inclusion among all students and colleagues.
- Encourage continuous improvement through collaboration and professional development.
- Participate in training and development opportunities provided by the school.
- Maintain accurate records and report progress to relevant staff.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with children with severe and complex needs, including autism.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a supportive and collaborative environment.
- Flexibility to work term time only and 29 hours per week.
Preferred
- Experience in special education or learning support.
- Knowledge of child centred and play based teaching approaches.
- Experience with communication development in children.
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
