The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide essential support to pupils aged 3-11 with special educational needs, disabilities, or individual learning requirements. Working closely with key leaders, you will help create an inclusive learning environment that empowers students to become confident and independent learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities in a classroom setting.
  • Assist in the implementation of inclusive teaching strategies and targeted interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and senior staff to ensure individual learning plans are followed.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to help pupils achieve their academic and personal goals.
  • Monitor and report on student progress to ensure consistent support and development.
  • Contribute to the creation of a positive and encouraging learning environment.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of pupil progress and interventions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs or disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Willingness to complete a DBS check and adhere to child protection policies.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and learning support techniques.
  • Experience with implementing individual learning plans.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to support a wide range of learning needs.
