The Opportunity:
A Learning Support Assistant is needed to provide essential support to students with special educational needs. This role is integral to helping vulnerable pupils achieve their full potential within a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with special educational needs in a mainstream setting
- Work closely with teachers to develop and implement individual learning plans
- Assist in the delivery of targeted interventions and support strategies
- Monitor and report on student progress and development
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being among students
- Collaborate with parents and carers to ensure a consistent approach to student support
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities
- Contribute to the overall school ethos and commitment to inclusion and diversity
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with students with special educational needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to Catholic education and the school’s values
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic school environment
Preferred
- Previous experience in a school setting
- Experience with autism, dyslexia, or social, emotional, and mental health support
- Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies
- Experience in curriculum support or learning assistance
