The Opportunity:
As a Learning Support Assistant - SEMH, you will play a key role in supporting the learning and wellbeing of pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs. This is a full-time, term-time only position that offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with SEMH through individual and group interventions
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic support in line with the school’s pastoral care strategy
- Assist in the management and delivery of wellbeing space and learning support centre activities
- Work closely with the SEND department to provide tailored support to students
- Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure the effective implementation of support plans
- Participate in professional development and training sessions
- Contribute to the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to student support and progress
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH and special educational needs
- Knowledge of evidence-based interventions and therapeutic support techniques
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Preferred
- Experience in delivering therapeutic support to students
- Familiarity with programmes such as KITs and Talkabout
- Experience in a school or educational setting
- Background in Catholic education or values
