The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant - SEMH, you will play a key role in supporting the learning and wellbeing of pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs. This is a full-time, term-time only position that offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with SEMH through individual and group interventions
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic support in line with the school’s pastoral care strategy
  • Assist in the management and delivery of wellbeing space and learning support centre activities
  • Work closely with the SEND department to provide tailored support to students
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure the effective implementation of support plans
  • Participate in professional development and training sessions
  • Contribute to the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to student support and progress

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with pupils with SEMH and special educational needs
  • Knowledge of evidence-based interventions and therapeutic support techniques
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering therapeutic support to students
  • Familiarity with programmes such as KITs and Talkabout
  • Experience in a school or educational setting
  • Background in Catholic education or values
