The Opportunity:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students' educational and social development. You will work closely with teachers and specialists to help students achieve their full potential in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the educational and social development of pupils in classes, small groups, and individually
- Assist pupils to learn effectively through tailored interventions and strategies
- Implement school policies to promote positive behaviour and inclusion
- Develop and manage strategies to support pupils' learning and pastoral needs
- Carry out specific duties as outlined in EHCPs and support plans
- Collaborate with the SENDCo Lead and Class Teacher to deliver targeted support
- Adapt and differentiate materials to help pupils access the curriculum
- Work as part of the teaching and learning support team to enhance the quality of education
- Build positive relationships with pupils and their families
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and inspire students
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure
- A warm, empathetic approach and a belief in every child's potential
- Confident use of ICT to support teaching and learning
- Commitment to professional development and innovative practice
Preferred
- Experience working with students with special educational needs
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting
- Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and pastoral care
