The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students' educational and social development. You will work closely with teachers and specialists to help students achieve their full potential in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the educational and social development of pupils in classes, small groups, and individually
  • Assist pupils to learn effectively through tailored interventions and strategies
  • Implement school policies to promote positive behaviour and inclusion
  • Develop and manage strategies to support pupils' learning and pastoral needs
  • Carry out specific duties as outlined in EHCPs and support plans
  • Collaborate with the SENDCo Lead and Class Teacher to deliver targeted support
  • Adapt and differentiate materials to help pupils access the curriculum
  • Work as part of the teaching and learning support team to enhance the quality of education
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and their families

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and inspire students
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • A warm, empathetic approach and a belief in every child's potential
  • Confident use of ICT to support teaching and learning
  • Commitment to professional development and innovative practice

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs
  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and pastoral care
