The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant 1:1, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with additional needs, helping them achieve their full potential in all areas of learning. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with additional needs as directed by the Inclusion Lead and Class Teachers
  • Implement specific needs outlined in EHCP/Support Plans
  • Assist pupils in learning as effectively as possible
  • Carry out duties as directed by the SENCo, Inclusion Lead, and Class Teacher
  • Promote good behaviour in line with school policy
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and pupils
  • Deliver pre-planned programmes of work tailored to individual needs
  • Work collaboratively with the school team to improve academic outcomes and personal development

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience of working in an educational environment
  • Experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs
  • Ability to communicate with young children
  • Ability to communicate effectively with teachers and parents
  • Ability to deal sensitively with people and resolve conflicts
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a verbal and written form

Preferred

  • Apprenticeship experience or willingness to pursue further education
  • Experience in delivering structured learning activities
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary of £22,170 per annum
  • 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays
  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Travel allowance of £1,000 per annum after probation
