The Opportunity:

As a Science Faculty Leader, you will lead and inspire a dynamic team of educators, shaping a high-quality curriculum for students from Years 7–13. This role is ideal for an experienced middle leader who is passionate about driving improvement, fostering inclusion, and contributing to whole-school STEM initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a high-quality, ambitious curriculum across Science and Social Sciences
  • Drive improvements in student progress, attainment, and attitudes to learning
  • Inspire and coach staff through outstanding leadership and modelling of best practice
  • Use performance data to identify trends and implement targeted interventions
  • Promote inclusive practice to meet the needs of all students, including SEND, EAL, and disadvantaged learners
  • Contribute strategically to whole-school priorities, including STEM development and Life Skills
  • Lead quality assurance processes, including curriculum review and data analysis
  • Model excellent classroom practice and support staff through mentoring and coaching

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as a middle leader in a secondary school
  • Demonstrated success in raising standards of teaching and learning
  • Outstanding classroom practice with the ability to mentor and coach others
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage resources and lead change
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using data to improve outcomes
  • Commitment to equality, inclusion, and safeguarding

Preferred

  • Experience in leading curriculum development and innovation
  • Experience with STEM initiatives or whole-school improvement projects
  • Aspiring to senior leadership and willingness to pursue NPQSL or NPQH
