The Opportunity:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide essential classroom support to enable a high-quality education for pupils with learning difficulties. This role offers flexibility and the chance to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teaching staff in the classroom to deliver a high-quality education to pupils with learning difficulties
- Assist in the implementation of individualized learning plans and educational programs
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents to meet the needs of each pupil
- Adapt to different learning styles and provide one-to-one or small group support as required
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and growth
- Assist with classroom management, including preparing resources and organizing activities
- Support pupils with personal care needs where required
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A caring and positive attitude with a strong commitment to supporting pupils with learning difficulties
- The ability to adapt to working with a range of pupils and learning needs
- Experience working in an educational setting, ideally with students with special educational needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A flexible approach to working hours and willingness to work on a supply basis
Preferred
- Experience working in a special school or with students who have autism or other complex needs
- Knowledge of SEND pedagogy and best practices in inclusive education
- Experience in teaching or supporting students with learning difficulties
- Familiarity with educational software and resources used in special needs education
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and staff training
