The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team and provide essential support to students with special educational needs (SEN). This role is crucial in helping students achieve their full potential through personalised learning and inclusive practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted support to students with SEN, implementing strategies from Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Assist individuals and groups of students in their learning, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment to help students achieve their full potential.
- Deliver one-to-one and small group support sessions as part of personalised learning programmes.
- Collaborate with class teachers to plan and implement appropriate materials and strategies.
- Monitor and track the impact of interventions to ensure progress.
- Contribute to EHCP reviews and ensure all necessary support is in place.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal abilities.
- A positive, ‘can do’ attitude and a commitment to helping every student fulfil their potential.
- Knowledge of curriculum content and strategies to support behaviour modification.
- Flexibility, resourcefulness, and a passion for supporting children with SEN.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred
- Experience in working with students with special educational needs.
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
- Familiarity with EHCPs and inclusive teaching practices.
