Summary:

Learning Support Assistant needed for term-time, part-time role. Support SEND students in a progressive school environment.

The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide vital support to students with special educational needs and disabilities in both one-to-one and small group settings. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people and helping them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special educational needs and disabilities during lessons and in small group settings.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to ensure individual learning needs are met.
  • Develop and implement individual learning plans in collaboration with teachers and support staff.
  • Provide pastoral care and emotional support to students where needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents and teachers.
  • Assist in the delivery of targeted interventions and support strategies.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Knowledge of a range of neurodiversities and related support strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from senior staff.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Qualifications in education support or related fields.
  • Experience with 1:1 and small group support.
  • Familiarity with inclusive teaching practices.
