The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support children in accessing the curriculum and providing classroom cover when needed. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student learning and development while contributing to a dynamic and inclusive school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children, including those with additional needs, to access the curriculum and develop confidence and independence.
  • Work closely with teachers, LSAs, and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide cover for classroom teaching on an ad-hoc basis, ensuring continuity of learning.
  • Assist in facilitating independent learning and play, helping students build relationships with peers.
  • Demonstrate initiative and a high standard of professionalism in all aspects of the role.
  • Contribute to the school’s vision by promoting community, kindness, respect, and excellence.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in line with the school’s safeguarding policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs.
  • Flexibility to provide cover as required.

Preferred

  • Experience in providing classroom cover or teaching support.
  • Knowledge of inclusive education practices.
  • Experience with the Talk for Writing approach.
  • Experience in early years education.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to student success.
