The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support children in accessing the curriculum and providing classroom cover when needed. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student learning and development while contributing to a dynamic and inclusive school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support children, including those with additional needs, to access the curriculum and develop confidence and independence.
- Work closely with teachers, LSAs, and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Provide cover for classroom teaching on an ad-hoc basis, ensuring continuity of learning.
- Assist in facilitating independent learning and play, helping students build relationships with peers.
- Demonstrate initiative and a high standard of professionalism in all aspects of the role.
- Contribute to the school’s vision by promoting community, kindness, respect, and excellence.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in line with the school’s safeguarding policies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
- Experience supporting children with additional needs.
- Flexibility to provide cover as required.
Preferred
- Experience in providing classroom cover or teaching support.
- Knowledge of inclusive education practices.
- Experience with the Talk for Writing approach.
- Experience in early years education.
- A passion for education and a commitment to student success.
