The Opportunity:
As a Learning Support Teacher - Pre-Prep, you will provide vital support to pupils with additional needs, working closely with class teachers, parents, and external professionals. This role is ideal for an experienced SEND practitioner who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) through individualized and small group teaching.
- Collaborate with class teachers to ensure consistent and effective support for students within the classroom.
- Liaise with parents and carers to provide updates and support strategies for pupils.
- Work with external agencies and professionals to assess and review pupils’ needs.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).
- Participate in school events and activities, including those outside regular working hours.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with the Learning Support team.
- Promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
- Strong understanding of statutory SEND processes and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to working with children and families.
- Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively with colleagues.
Preferred
- Experience in a pre-prep or early years setting.
- Familiarity with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
- Experience with differentiated teaching strategies.
- Knowledge of assistive technologies and resources for SEND learners.
