The Opportunity:
As a Lecturer in Biology and Psychology (Access to HE), you will deliver high-quality, engaging teaching across a range of full-time and part-time programmes. You will play a key role in shaping the learning experience and supporting students to achieve their academic and personal goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and interactive teaching sessions in Biology and Psychology across a range of full-time and part-time Access to HE programmes.
- Plan, prepare, and assess learning activities that promote essential skills such as literacy, numeracy, and digital capability.
- Contribute to curriculum development and support the delivery of basic and key skills.
- Maximize learner attendance, retention, and punctuality within assigned groups to ensure a positive learning experience.
- Utilize technology and e-learning platforms to enhance teaching and support student learning.
- Provide individualized support and guidance to students to help them achieve their academic and career goals.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies and materials.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to support continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A relevant teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
- Strong subject knowledge in Biology and Psychology.
- Experience in delivering Access to HE courses or similar higher education qualifications.
- Intermediate IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging, interactive lessons.
- Commitment to promoting essential skills such as literacy, numeracy, and digital capability.
Preferred
- Familiarity with learner management systems and e-learning platforms.
- Experience in curriculum development and design.
- Knowledge of current educational initiatives and best practices in teaching and learning.
- Experience in supporting students with diverse learning needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
