The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Lecturer to deliver engaging and practical teaching to students across a range of full-time and part-time programmes. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging teaching in a workshop and classroom setting
  • Plan, prepare, and assess learning activities that promote literacy, numeracy, and digital capability
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and support the delivery of essential skills
  • Maximize learner attendance, retention, and punctuality within assigned groups
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and integrate practical knowledge into teaching
  • Support learners in achieving their academic and career goals
  • Use IT tools effectively, including Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, to develop teaching materials
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and innovative approach to teaching

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Fully qualified electrical engineer with relevant qualifications above level 3
  • Industrial experience in the engineering industry
  • Recognised teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one
  • Strong subject knowledge in electrical engineering
  • Intermediate IT skills in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Understanding of current educational initiatives

Preferred

  • Experience with learner management systems and e-learning platforms
  • Familiarity with virtual learning environments
  • Experience in developing innovative teaching materials
  • Knowledge of curriculum planning and delivery
