The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain a diverse collection of children's and young adult literature, ensuring it reflects cultural inclusivity.
• Develop and implement library programs that support student learning and engagement.
• Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into the curriculum.
• Lead and mentor student volunteers in library operations and events.
• Promote reading and literacy through events, workshops, and outreach activities.
• Ensure the library is a welcoming, safe, and well-organised space for all users.
• Provide guidance and support to students and staff on research, information literacy, and library resources.
• Stay up to date with trends in library science and educational technology.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Qualified librarian or equivalent experience in library management.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Knowledge of children's and young adult literature, including culturally appropriate materials.
• Experience working with students in an educational setting.
• Ability to lead and inspire student volunteers.

Preferred

• Experience in a school or educational library environment.
• Familiarity with library management systems and digital resources.
• Experience with curriculum support and collaboration with teaching staff.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
