The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Lunchtime Supervisor to support students during lunchtimes in a special educational needs primary school. This role is crucial in creating a positive and engaging environment for students, promoting healthy eating, and managing lunchtime clubs. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise students in dining areas and other designated spaces during lunchtimes.
  • Support students with food choices and assist with feeding and changing where necessary.
  • Lead and participate in a range of lunchtime clubs, including football, art, and sensory story activities.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff members.
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or concerns to senior staff in a timely manner.
  • Provide first aid support or comfort students who are unwell or have minor injuries.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging lunchtime environment for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children, ideally in a school or care setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and with students of all abilities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Flexibility to work during term time, 11am–1pm, on a part-time basis.

Preferred

  • Experience in organizing or leading lunchtime activities or clubs.
  • Knowledge of special educational needs and inclusive practices.
  • First aid qualifications or willingness to obtain them.
  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
