The Opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated Student Services Administrator - Attendance Officer to join a dynamic team and support the smooth running of student services. This role is essential to ensuring students receive the support they need to thrive academically and personally. As part of a dedicated team, you will contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment that empowers young people to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor student attendance records and provide timely support to students and staff.
  • Liaise with students, parents, and teaching staff to address attendance issues and promote punctuality.
  • Coordinate with internal and external agencies to support students who are absent or at risk of non-attendance.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to attendance and student support.
  • Provide guidance and support to students on a range of pastoral and administrative matters.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a consistent and supportive approach to student welfare.
  • Organize and deliver training or information sessions on attendance and student well-being.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of attendance policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of working with young people, ideally in an educational setting.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Commitment to the shared values of the school.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and systems for attendance tracking and reporting.

Preferred

  • Experience in a student services or pastoral role.
  • Experience of working with young men or the ability to speak a community language.
  • Knowledge of attendance policies and procedures in further education.
  • Experience of supporting students with attendance challenges or those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
