Teaching Assistant SEN Level 1 – Support students with special educational needs in a dynamic school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teaching and learning by working with small groups of children under the supervision of the teacher.
  • Implement Individual Learning Plans and provide regular feedback on student progress to the class teacher.
  • Assist with the supervision of discreet groups of pupils when the teacher is not present.
  • Ensure all pupils have equal access to learning opportunities and support diverse needs.
  • Participate in training to develop effective learning strategies and support student progress.
  • Contribute to the performance management process and commit to continuous professional development.
  • Communicate clearly and provide advice in accurate spoken English to support students and colleagues.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 2 or equivalent qualification in literacy and numeracy.
  • Basic knowledge of child development and learning.
  • Commitment to professional standards and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with classroom professionals and build positive relationships with stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Experience working with children and young people with communication, severe, profound, or complex learning difficulties.
  • Experience in a special educational needs setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
