The Opportunity:

As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will oversee the maintenance and upkeep of a school estate that spans 55 acres of countryside. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with experience in carpentry and general building maintenance, and who is ready to take on a varied and impactful role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain school buildings and grounds to a high standard
  • Lead and supervise the maintenance, caretaking and compliance teams
  • Carry out and oversee planned and reactive maintenance
  • Manage contractors, minor refurbishments and site projects
  • Support health & safety, compliance and site security
  • Respond to maintenance issues and occasional emergency callouts
  • Support school events, lettings and pool operations
  • Ensure all maintenance work aligns with the school’s standards and policies

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven hands-on maintenance experience (carpentry essential)
  • Multi-trade skills including painting, decorating and general repairs
  • Experience supervising staff or leading small teams
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and respond effectively to issues
  • Strong communication and organisational skills

Preferred

  • Experience with health and safety compliance
  • Familiarity with managing contractors and site projects
  • Experience working in a school or educational setting
