The Opportunity:
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the school and its properties are well-maintained and operational. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, proactive, and committed to delivering a high standard of service within a dynamic and supportive school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair all school buildings, facilities, and equipment to the highest standard.
- Carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure safety and functionality.
- Support the Head of Grounds and Maintenance in managing day-to-day operations.
- Respond promptly to repair requests and emergencies across the school site.
- Collaborate with other staff to ensure all areas of the school are clean, safe, and welcoming.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance work and consumables used.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
- Contribute to the upkeep of the school's extensive grounds and outdoor spaces.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in maintenance or a related field.
- Strong practical skills in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to providing a first-class service to students, staff, and visitors.
- Valid driving license and access to a vehicle for travel around the site.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards and procedures.
- Familiarity with building management systems and software.
- Experience with emergency response and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
