The Opportunity:

As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the school estate, ensuring a safe and functional environment for students and staff. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with leadership experience and a passion for building maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain school buildings and grounds to a high standard
  • Lead and supervise the maintenance, caretaking and compliance teams
  • Oversee planned and reactive maintenance across the estate
  • Manage contractors, minor refurbishments and site projects
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and site security protocols
  • Respond promptly to maintenance issues and occasional emergency callouts
  • Support school events, lettings and pool operations as required

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven hands-on maintenance experience with carpentry skills
  • Multi-trade skills including painting, decorating and general repairs
  • Experience supervising staff or leading small teams
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Strong communication and organisational skills

Preferred

  • Experience with health and safety compliance
  • Familiarity with school operations and event support
  • Knowledge of building management systems or software
