The Opportunity:

As a Management Accountant, you will play a vital role in the Finance team, ensuring the accurate and timely production of monthly management accounts. You will support the Head of Finance on strategic initiatives and contribute to the implementation of new finance systems and processes across the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and produce accurate monthly management accounts within deadlines.
  • Support the Head of Finance with strategic initiatives and business partnering across the school.
  • Assist in the implementation of new finance systems and processes.
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support decision-making.
  • Maintain and update financial records and reports.
  • Collaborate with non-finance stakeholders to ensure alignment with financial goals.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external financial regulations.
  • Contribute to the development of financial strategies and budgets.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified accountant with relevant professional qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or ACA).
  • Proven experience in accounting and financial reporting, preferably in an educational or similar sector.
  • Strong understanding of financial systems and processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience in producing management accounts and financial reports.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational institution.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems or financial software.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in business partnering or strategic financial planning.
