The Opportunity:

We are seeking a graduate to train as a Mathematics teacher, with the potential for permanent employment following successful completion of the one-year initial teacher training course. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in developing a deep understanding of Mathematics through engaging and innovative teaching methods.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and promote a culture of excellence.
  • Collaborate with experienced mentors and colleagues to continuously improve teaching practices.
  • Contribute to the co-curricular life of the school, including extracurricular activities and student support initiatives.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted feedback to support learning and achievement.
  • Participate in the school’s professional development programme to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain strong communication with students, parents, and colleagues to support student success.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A strong undergraduate degree, preferably in Mathematics or a related subject.
  • Commitment to teaching and a passion for inspiring students to achieve their potential.
  • Willingness to fund the ITT course as part of the unsalaried training route.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and take on a growing timetable over the course of the year.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or education-related roles.
  • Familiarity with Mathematics curricula and assessment methods.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar.
  • A track record of involvement in extracurricular activities or student support initiatives.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • £29,000 DfE Bursary if eligible.
  • Full-time, fixed-term contract with potential for permanent employment.
