The Opportunity:

As a Maths Teacher, you will play a vital role in helping disadvantaged students achieve academic success. You will be part of a dynamic team that delivers a challenging and innovative curriculum, preparing students for university and STEM careers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality mathematics lessons that go beyond A-level specifications.
  • Support students in achieving academic success, with a focus on those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement the Aspiring Mathematician Programme.
  • Participate in outreach initiatives to support students across Merseyside.
  • Provide pastoral support and mentorship to students through the Pastoral and Personal Enrichment Programme.
  • Engage in professional development and contribute to the continuous improvement of the school’s curriculum.
  • Work flexibly, including during school holidays and on weekends, to support admissions and outreach activities.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student engagement and respect.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in mathematics education.
  • Strong subject knowledge in mathematics and related STEM fields.
  • Commitment to supporting disadvantaged students and widening participation in STEM.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a small, close-knit team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in delivering A-level and Further Mathematics courses.

Preferred

  • Experience with the Aspiring Mathematician Programme or similar enrichment initiatives.
  • Familiarity with outreach and community engagement in education.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support.
  • Flexibility to work during school holidays and on weekends.
  • Previous experience in a single academy trust or similar educational setting.
