The Opportunity:

As a Maths Teacher, you will play a key role in inspiring students across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will deliver engaging lessons and contribute to a dynamic and ambitious department. This is an opportunity to make a real impact on student achievement and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that challenge and inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the maths curriculum.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Support students with diverse needs, including those with SEN, EAL, and Gifted and Talented students.
  • Promote a positive learning environment that encourages behaviour for learning.
  • Participate in wider school activities and contribute to the school’s community spirit.
  • Reflect on and improve teaching practice through continuous professional development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong subject knowledge in mathematics.
  • Experience of teaching students aged 11-16.
  • Proven ability to deliver outstanding lessons.
  • Understanding of what constitutes ‘outstanding’ teaching in mathematics.
  • Experience of successful behaviour for learning strategies.
  • Ability to monitor and set targets to improve learning outcomes.
  • Understanding of different models of support for students with SEN, EAL and Gifted and Talented.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching English as a second language.
  • Experience of working with disadvantaged students.
  • Experience of successful curriculum development.
  • Experience of coaching or mentoring other teachers.
  • Experience of using ICT in teaching and learning.
