Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and stimulating mathematics lessons across all year groups.
  • Act as an academic tutor to a small group of students, providing individualised support and guidance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies and resources.
  • Support the delivery of Further Maths and IB courses where applicable.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages curiosity and problem-solving.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of the mathematics curriculum.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of students in line with the school’s safeguarding policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A strong degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
  • A teaching qualification such as a PGCE or equivalent, or the ability and commitment to achieve one.
  • Experience in teaching mathematics at a secondary level or the potential to develop outstanding classroom practice.
  • The ability to teach across a range of ability levels and age groups.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Further Maths or the International Baccalaureate (IB).
  • A proven track record of delivering high-quality lessons and achieving excellent student outcomes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and innovation in teaching.
