Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging, high-quality mathematics lessons that meet curriculum requirements and challenge students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing targeted support and feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the ongoing development of the maths department.
  • Support students in developing problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of mathematical concepts.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that encourages participation and learning.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other professional development opportunities.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and pastoral support.
  • Ensure all teaching and learning resources are up to date and aligned with the school’s values and mission.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS.
  • Proven experience in teaching mathematics at secondary level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver effective lessons.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s values of PRIDE: Participation, Respect, Integrity, Diversity, Excellence.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching a range of abilities, including those with special educational needs.
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovation in maths education.
  • Familiarity with the use of digital tools and resources in teaching.
  • Experience in pastoral care or student support roles.
