The Opportunity:

A Mechanical Engineering Lecturer is needed to support the delivery of engineering education to apprentices and full-time students. This role offers the chance to contribute to a forward-thinking team and shape the future of engineering education in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching in engineering subjects up to Level 3, including both theory and practical workshop sessions.
  • Support the development of a curriculum that meets the needs of local employers and industry standards.
  • Utilise modern facilities, including the new Advanced Manufacturing Building, to enhance the learning experience.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and educators.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to students, helping them develop practical and theoretical skills.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • At least a Level 3 qualification in engineering (HNC/D is an advantage).
  • Experience in manufacturing or maintenance within the engineering sector.
  • Ability to deliver both practical and theoretical sessions to a range of learners.

Preferred

  • Teaching experience or possession of a teaching qualification and assessor award.
  • Adaptability and willingness to contribute to curriculum development.
  • Experience in areas such as Fabrication & Welding, Design, or Maintenance.
