The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a dedicated and caring Medical Team Member to join its dynamic medical centre. This role is essential in ensuring the health and safety of students, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will provide expert medical care, support students with complex health needs, and contribute to the school’s mission of fostering a safe and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely assess and manage medical complaints presented by students during the school day
  • Provide and manage emergency medical care to the school community and visitors
  • Confidently assess and manage sports injuries
  • Support students with complex health needs and collaborate with health professionals to create individual healthcare plans
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of medical care and incidents
  • Monitor illness trends and liaise with Public Health England and relevant stakeholders
  • Deliver accessible, confidential, and holistic medical services to students
  • Ensure the school environment is safe by monitoring and reporting accidents and hazards
  • Equip school trip leaders with first aid materials and advice
  • Teach Basic Life Support and first aid to students

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Paramedic or equivalent
  • A BSc in Paramedic Practice or equivalent qualification
  • Strong IT skills with proficiency in spreadsheets and database systems
  • Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions
  • Good knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and musculoskeletal conditions

  • Experience working with children in an educational setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive approach to contributing to the life of the school and its community
  • Empathy, kindness, and the ability to listen effectively
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
