The Opportunity:
As a Mental Health Nurse or Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting students' mental health and emotional wellbeing. You will work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff to develop and deliver effective mental health interventions. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver evidence-based mental health interventions to students and their families.
- Assess, formulate, and collaboratively develop management and support plans for students’ mental health needs.
- Support staff in identifying and managing mental health issues in the school setting.
- Supervise and utilise the wellbeing dog, Ernie, during wellbeing sessions.
- Provide access to the onsite Forest School for alternative provision and support.
- Attend vulnerable pupils’ meetings and staff wellbeing group sessions.
- Accept referrals according to local and national protocols.
- Complete all data collection and reporting requirements.
- Provide clinical supervision as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Registered Mental Health Nurse or Mental Health Practitioner with relevant qualifications.
- Formal training and accreditation in at least one evidence-based therapy modality.
- Experience working with young people in an educational or mental health setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred
- Experience in delivering mental health interventions in a school setting.
- Experience with crisis planning and risk assessment.
- Knowledge of pastoral care and student support systems.
- Experience with clinical supervision and supervision of wellbeing dogs in therapeutic settings.
