The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Modern Foreign Languages up to Key Stage 4, with experience in Key Stage 5 being an advantage.
- Contribute to departmental activities, including extra-curricular events, revision sessions, and open days.
- Support the efficient running of the department through examination setting, marking, and administrative tasks.
- Continue to raise the standards of teaching and learning within the department and across the school.
- Engage in professional development and contribute to the school’s Professional Growth Programme.
- Promote high levels of academic language and cultural awareness among students.
- Uphold high behavioural standards in lessons and across the school.
- Prepare and use appropriate resources to enhance student learning.
- Liaise with support staff to provide effective provision for students with diverse needs.
- Undertake the role of form tutor and support the school’s safeguarding policies.
- Fulfil any additional duties as required by the Headteacher.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Hold an appropriate teaching certificate and Qualified Teacher Status.
- Hold a recognised degree (or equivalent) with a good classification in a relevant subject.
- Experience teaching Key Stage 4.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a genuine passion for teaching Modern Foreign Languages.
- Detailed knowledge of current curriculum and pedagogical developments.
- Ability to teach up to Key Stage 4.
- Commitment to promoting high standards of teaching and learning.
- Flexible approach to teaching that supports all students.
- Effective approach to behaviour management.
- Strong classroom practice and communication skills.
- Willingness to participate in extra-curricular activities.
- Commitment to professional learning and the school’s Professional Growth Programme.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and contribute to department success.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
