Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons in Modern Foreign Languages, with a focus on German, to students aged 11-16.
  • Develop and implement engaging and innovative schemes of work aligned with the school's mission and curriculum standards.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback to support learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the school's professional development initiatives.
  • Maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and the wider community to support student success and well-being.
  • Participate in whole-school events, staff meetings, and training sessions to ensure a cohesive and supportive working environment.
  • Support the school’s commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of teaching and learning.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching practice and student achievement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and relevant subject knowledge in Modern Foreign Languages, specifically German.
  • Proven experience teaching Modern Foreign Languages at the secondary level (11-16).
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student well-being.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and take ownership of personal and professional development.

Preferred

  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language or bilingual education.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and digital learning tools.
  • Experience in a school trust or multi-academy setting.
  • Demonstrated success in improving student outcomes in Modern Foreign Languages.
  • Knowledge of the German culture and language beyond the classroom.
