The Opportunity:

A Modern Foreign Languages Teacher is needed to deliver engaging French and Spanish lessons to a diverse and motivated student body. The role offers the chance to contribute to a dynamic curriculum and take on the responsibility of a Form Tutor. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality French and Spanish lessons aligned with the Common Entrance Syllabus.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to review and enhance the Modern Foreign Languages curriculum.
  • Act as a Form Tutor, providing pastoral care and support to students in the Middle or Upper School.
  • Attend Saturday morning school sessions for Years 5–8, with a half-day allocated during the week for compensation.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and achievement.
  • Participate in co-curricular activities and school events as appropriate.
  • Support students in developing language skills through varied and stimulating teaching methods.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to help students reach their full potential.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Modern Foreign Languages, specifically French.
  • Strong subject knowledge in French and the ability to teach Spanish as an advantage.
  • Experience working with students aged 10–13.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to take on the role of Form Tutor.
  • Willingness to attend Saturday school sessions and manage the associated schedule.

Preferred

  • Experience with the Common Entrance Syllabus.
  • Background in teaching at an independent school.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in co-curricular or extracurricular activities.
  • Familiarity with boarding school environments.
