The Opportunity:
A Modern Foreign Languages Teacher is needed to deliver engaging French and Spanish lessons to a diverse and motivated student body. The role offers the chance to contribute to a dynamic curriculum and take on the responsibility of a Form Tutor. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality French and Spanish lessons aligned with the Common Entrance Syllabus.
- Collaborate with colleagues to review and enhance the Modern Foreign Languages curriculum.
- Act as a Form Tutor, providing pastoral care and support to students in the Middle or Upper School.
- Attend Saturday morning school sessions for Years 5–8, with a half-day allocated during the week for compensation.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and achievement.
- Participate in co-curricular activities and school events as appropriate.
- Support students in developing language skills through varied and stimulating teaching methods.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to help students reach their full potential.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Modern Foreign Languages, specifically French.
- Strong subject knowledge in French and the ability to teach Spanish as an advantage.
- Experience working with students aged 10–13.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Ability to take on the role of Form Tutor.
- Willingness to attend Saturday school sessions and manage the associated schedule.
Preferred
- Experience with the Common Entrance Syllabus.
- Background in teaching at an independent school.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in co-curricular or extracurricular activities.
- Familiarity with boarding school environments.
